Easter Island

This really isn’t a budget destination, but we thought, what the hell? When will we ever get the chance to do this again??  Yeah, you only live once!!

Rapa Nui is Easter Island’s local name. It is in the Pacific Ocean and officially belongs to Chile, which is 2300 miles from mainland Chile. We have a flight booked, which I booked many months ago as it is very expensive to get to and from Easter Island, and the earlier you book your flight, the better the price. Only two airports serve Rapa Nui, Santiago, which we will fly from, and the flight is around 5 hours. The other is a 7-hour flight from Papeete (Tahiti) in French Polynesia, with one flight a week!!!!!
